Happy Birthday

I know...it's already been three months since Emma turned 4, but just thought I would put up some photos from her big day. She had a blast! We started the day with Disneyland which included face painting and meeting some of her favorite princesses. Then it was a BBQ, and cake and ice cream at home with some family. Emma got her first bicycle, which is decorated with....you guessed it, Disney princesses!! She loves it!! Now, time to plan for Travis' birthday, wow time flies!!

Well, I know we haven't updated our blog in a while...but not too much has been going on around here. Just some crazy kids that keep us laughing! Here are a couple of examples of what happens when you take your eyes off of them for only one minute! Keri decided to give Emma a bath, then stepped away to get something from our bedroom. Next thing we here is a little girl's voice yelling, "mom...Travis got in the bath with his jammies on!!" She wasn't kidding! Next, Keri and I were at her parnets house, and Emma was watching a movie in a bedroom while we were visiting with the family. Emma walked out of the room covered from head to toe with "tiger stripes" as she called them. So like I said, not too much exciting news, just funny pics if nothing else!

Halloween was this weekend, and the kids had a great time! Emma got to choose her costume, she had been telling us for the last few months that she wanted to be a cowgirl, and that Travis wanted to be a cowboy. Emma has already chosen her costume for next year, she either wants to be a skeleton, or a ballerina. Unfortunately, I had to work Halloween night, so I didn't get to go trick or treating with the kids, but I did wear my costume to work!

I know, it's been almost six months since I last updated our blog. It seems that in the last few months, we have been busy! Where to begin? Since our last post, Travis celebrated his first birthday! We took him to Disneyland in September. Since he is older than the last visit, he had alot more fun looking at everything, and going on a few rides. We also moved into our condo a couple of months ago, and are finally getting settled in! I decided I never want to have to move again! Travis now thinks he is a big kid and walks everywhere he goes, it's so funny to see his wobbly little walk! He has to copy everything his big sister does. Other than that, not too much excitement around here, just chaos with the two kids! Here are some recent pics.

Besides the sweet handlebar mustache...that's right! The sweet 1995 Kawasaki "Police 1000" motorcycle! I recently became the new owner of this bad boy (Sorry mom and dad). I even went to the DMV and got my M1 permit so I can legally ride it (jealous Ryan?!). Keri thought it would be funny to take a picture like this. Anyways, thats it...

Well, it has been a few months since I have updated my blog, and alot has been going on since then. I have been enjoying the last three weeks of vacation, not having to work. At the end of April, we drove up to Utah to spend a week there. My brother Jay had some time off before he is deployed to Iraq, so he was there with his family. While we were there Emma had her 3rd birthday! Jay's daughter Mya had her 4th birthday coming up soon, so we had a double b-day bash at Chuck E. Cheeses. I think the older kids had more fun than the little ones! After returning from Utah, Keri and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary. First we dropped off the kids, and went to dinner at Lawry's in Beverly Hills. After dinner, I drove down by the beach, and pulled over to give Keri her present. I surprised her with a new three stone diamond ring. Keri got me a watch that I have been wanting forever! We had a lot of fun. The next day we drove out to the shopping outlets in Palm Springs with Keri's family. It has become a new tradition to go with them the day before mother's day. We spent all day shopping in the heat, yay! But eveybody had a good time. So here are some recent photos, enjoy!

Well, since I had about a week and a half off of work, we decided to pack up the kids and head to Utah again. It had been a couple of months since my parents have seen the kids, so we decided to get away for a few days. We had a great time visiting and playing in the snow. Emma had a blast! She made her first snowman. Keri and I even got to go snowboarding. For only having been two times, she was awesome! The snow was great, it snowed while we were driving there so it was nice and soft for her to fall in! Also, I took my dad out to Payson to go shoot stuff with my rifle. That was also awesome. We also got to see Katie and Ryan's baby William for the first time and Travis made a new best friend. The only bummer was that both Emma and Travis were sick almost the whole time. As soon as we got home, I got sick too...woohoo! Oh, but I did get to drive Ryan's Camaro while I was there, thanks Ryan! We hope to be back soon.

Nothing too new...

Well, nothing too exciting has been going on here, but we just wanted to put up a few new pictures for fun. We took the kids to the L.A. Zoo, it was Travis' first time. Emma has been before, but she said she couldn't remember it! She had a blast! She got to see all of her favorite animals. I did buy myself a new toy, Keri wasn't as excited about it as I was. I named it "War Machine". Travis is getting huge. Emma only weighs about 5 pounds more than him. He now is in 12 month clothes. When Emma stopped wearing diapers, she was in a size 3, she was 2 years old. Travis needed a size 3 diaper at 4 months! According to my mom, he isn't as fat of a baby as I was. Not funny mom! He is growing too fast! He has been rolling over for a while, and has discovered his feet. We thought he would never be able to reach his foot to his mouth with that belly, but he proved us wrong. Keri decided to give him his first haircut, but it is growing out already.

Emma The Flower Girl...

This Saturday, my work partner got married. He asked Keri and I if Emma would be the flower girl in the ceremony. He asked us about a year ago. At first we were a little hesitant because she would only be about 2 1/2. We weren't sure how she would do walking down the aisle in front of that many people. But the day came, and she did perfect. She walked nice and slow down the aisle, and dropped her rose petals along the way. She looked like a little princess. The wedding ceremony was held at the original LAPD police academy. It was a beautiful wedding. The reception was held down the street...at Dodger Stadium! We got to go down to "The Dugout Club" which is on the very bottom level of the stadium seating in a very nice restaurant. Well, that wasn't good enough for one of my other work partners and I, we wanted to see how close we could get to the field. We walked right up to the very first row, then I noticed that the gate to get on the field was open! We walked out on to the grass, looked around and took a few photos in front of the dugout before getting yelled at by security. Apparently our badges don't mean anything on their turf! But, we had a great time, congrats to Carlos and Linda!

Well, it's a little bit late, but it has been a while since I updated our blog. And at the request of a few grandparents, here are some updated photos of the little ones. Christmas was a very fun day for us. This year was Emma's third, and Travis' first. I unfortunately had to work on Christmas Eve, from 6:30pm until about 7:00am Christmas morning. I drove home from work, and just about as soon as I walked in the door, the kids were awake and ready to open presents! After that it was off to visit with both of our families for the rest of the day. Needless to say, I was a little tired at the end of the day having been awake for about 32 hours straight! But it was worth it being able to spend the time with our families.

This year was Travis' first Halloween (Emma's third!) and the first year we had two kids to take trick or treating! That was definately a chore! This year, Emma was her favorite Disney princess, Cinderella! She was given many compliments about her beautiful costume! Travis was a little dragon. Several people tried to guess what he was...we heard everything from dinosaur, to iguana, even a frog! Apparently his costume wasn't very convincing. But he sure did look cute. His costume is a size 3 month, and we were barely able to zip it up all the way on the little butter-ball. Yesterday he had his two month check up with the doctor, so he went to the doctor's in costume. He was given four shots, poor little guy. He weighs 14 pounds now and is 23 1/2 inches long. So he is the same size his sister was at 5 months, and he's only two! We went trick or treating with the kids, Keri's parents, Emma and Travis' aunt Madison, and the Jacksons. We went trick or treating for about 5 blocks before we had enough! Next year will probably be worse since Travis will be able to walk, and Emma will be able to run even faster! Yeah for us!

Travis' blessing day...

This Sunday was a very exciting day for us. We had Travis' blessing at church, and Keri celebrated her 25th birthday...Woo Hoo! We had a very busy weekend preparing for the blessing, and for the get together we had afterwards. After the blessing, our friends and family gathered at Keri's parents' house for a small brunch/party. We had a lot of fun socializing with our family. We had a lot of family come from out of town. My parents and sisters made the journey all the way from Utah, and won the award for longest distance traveled! It was great to see everyone! Travis had fun seeing his new second cousin, and new BFF Owen Araiza. Every time they get together, we have tried to take pictures of them together, but one of them refuses to wake up for the cameras. This week, it was Owen who was the sleepy boy. I did manage to get one of him with his eyes open for the few seconds he was awake! They look so cute together. Also, my grandpa, dad, Travis and I got to take a picture together. It was the first time in the Farish family history that a picture of four generations of Farish men was taken. (Ok, maybe not the first time, but it was cool.)

After the party was over with, we were at Keri's parents' helping clean up and put the house back together. I was in the living room when I heard a loud crash! My first reaction was to run outside, and make sure that nobody had hit my car! After I realized that my car was safe, I ran over to the cars involved and made sure everybody was ok. One of the drivers involved was an older man who was injured. He was on the line with "Onstar" trying to tell them where he was. He was a little confused and not sure where he was, so I told them where the crash happened. I helped him out of his car, and sat him on the sidewalk until police and fire departments showed up. Whew! What a day!

It has been about 7 1/2 weeks since I last worked, and since I had the time off, I decided that I was not going to shave! After 7 weeks, I had a pretty awesome beard going on (I don't care what Connie said about it!) But, all good things have to come to an end, and in the end, Keri was getting tired of it, and forced me to shave it all off against my will. But I wasn't going to take it all off at once. My personal favorite is the handlebar mustache! If LAPD allowed it, I would have returned to work with it! I still have another three weeks off of work, so we'll see what if I can grow it again by then!

Our trip to Utah...

Well, since I was given 10 weeks off of work for Travis' birth (and yes, Keri does have to go back to work before I do, I deserve the time off!!), we decided to use some of that time to visit my folks in Utah. We had a great time staying in my parents new home in Springville. We had a lot of fun visiting with our families. Emma and Travis were able to see their great-grandparents. It was the first time that they were able to see Travis since he was born. We were also able to show Travis to his uncle Kevin, who hadn't seem him yet either. We just happened to "run into him" outside of the MTC. Even though we just lounged around the house most of the time, it was good to get away from home for a while. While I was there, I was able to go on a ride along with my cousin Jess, with the Salt Lake City Police Department. We had a great time, and hope to return in the winter to do some snowboarding!

Well, I know that so far the only thing that I have posted to my blog is pics of Travis, but honestly, nothing has been going on here! Plus everybody keeps telling me to put more and more pics on here. It has been nice having the last three weeks off of work, and I look forward to having the next two months off spending time at home with the kids doing nothing. Well, I promise to post something exciting or some news when something happens. Until then, enjoy!

One week old!

Well, Travis is now a whole week old. He is getting bigger everyday, and changing so much. His favorite thing to do is sleep. He is such a good baby boy...for now! Right now, he only wakes up one to two times a night. Luckily he is letting us get some much needed sleep. He loves being held by his big sister, and Emma loves being a big sister. Here are a few recent photos, we will post some more in the near future.

Well, here he is. Travis William was born on Aug 30, 2008 at 8:58 am. He weighed 8 lbs 5.9 oz, and was 20.5 inches in length. As you can see, he had a lot of brown hair. We are very excited for him to finally be here! Here is a picture, I will post more when I get a chance.
